The Somm Series is a monthly workshop-style event to demystify the world of wine and make it fun, approachable and accessible to all levels of wine drinkers. Whether you're a certified sommelier yourself or you simply love learning what’s in your glass, this event is a great way to network with fellow wine lovers and learn more about different topics in the wine world.
October's workshop celebrates Oktoberfest and the incredible wines coming out of Germany. Our host, Tami Wong, has traveled the world, experiencing regional wines alongside those that make them, love them, and bring them to life. As always, tickets include a 5-pour tasting and a 1-hour presentation from Tami. Learn more about her story below!

Meet the Somm
A 3rd generation hospitality professional, Tami discovered her passion for wine while working at the 3 rd
Corner in Ocean Beach. She served as Wine Director at La Valencia Hotel and then opened Juniper and
Ivy. Tami won Best New Sommelier from Wine & Spirits magazine in 2014 and a Wine Spectator Award
of Excellence in 2015. She left restaurants in 2017 to represent Estate Wines Ltd and Wine Wise. She
loves sales and supporting local enterprise, so she founded Stay Classy Selections, the first wholesale
distributor specializing in San Diego County wine and cider in 2020.
Tami is a founding member of 2 key groups. Nat Diego, San Diego’s fun-loving natural wine festival, was
one of USA Today's 10 Best Wine Festivals in 2019. She is also the Vice President of Womens Wine
Alliance which serves as an educational and networking body focused on advancing women in the wine
industry.
Tami is a Certified Sommelier through the Court of Master Sommeliers. Stay Classy Selections belongs to
the San Diego County Vintners Association and SIP San Diego.
