Meet the Somm
Kristina Kinard is a passionate wine professional with a deep love for the art and science of wine. With a strong foundation in both sommelier training and the business of wine, she brings a unique blend of expertise to every tasting and event.
Kristina's journey into the world of wine began when she started taking classes for the Certificate in the Business of Wine from San Diego State University in 2021. She has continued to expand her knowledge, earning the WSET Level 1, WSET Level 2 with Merit, and WSET Level 3 Tasting with Merit certifications as well as the Introduction to Sommelier certification from the prestigious Court of Master Sommelier equipping her with the skills to understand the nuances of the wine industry from both a practical and strategic perspective.
Alongside her formal education, Kristina has honed her skills through diverse hands-on experiences. She has worked in renowned establishments such as Record Family Wines, Cork & Stem, and currently at Castelli & Pizarro Family Wines, where she continues to refine her craft and share her love of wine with others.
When not immersed in the world of wine, Kristina works full-time for a leading biotech company, blending her passion for wine with a professional, results-driven mindset.
With her extensive training and experience, Kristina offers a wealth of knowledge to her classes and customers, helping many discover the perfect wines to suit their tastes and occasions.
